FAQs - How Can We Help?

What to Expect

As a staff member at Sagrada, your main goal, no matter what your job is, will be to share the gospel with our campers. Whether you are a counselor, a cook, an office worker, a maintenance worker, or a camp grandparent, your interactions with the children will be gospel centered. If you are a counselor or helper, you will be sleeping in air-conditioned covered wagons or cabins and will spend all of your time with your assigned campers. Some activities include, swimming in the lake, hiking, low ropes course, target range, field games, and more! If you are serving in a support role, you will sleep in an air-conditioned room and will spend time with the children as much as you can once your job is complete!

Who can be a camper?

Any child can be a camper at Sagrada! We are affiliated with Angel Tree Ministries and have many children with incarcerated parents. We also have many children from other at-risk situations such as foster care. We also have many children from healthy, loving homes! Again, any child is welcome here!

Who can volunteer?

Anyone who is a child of God and is mature in their faith. Due to the inportance of the work of the Gospel, we only allow those who are spiritually mature in the Christian faith to serve here at SSBC.

How many campers do you have?

We generally have 20-30 campers per week. We keep a 2 to 1 camper to counselor ratio to ensure every camper is able to get the attention they deserve. A counselor and helper will be in charge of four campers on average.

Do you have boys and girls at the same time?

No. We keep our camps separated by gender to avoid any distractions.

Where does the staff sleep?

Counselors and helpers sleep in wagons and cabins with their campers. Any “off-week” staff stay either in our designated male and female dorms. Families that are serving together stay in family rooms that we have throughout the camp property.
